2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD Gains High Country Flagship Trim

In order to further expand their all-new 2020 Silverado HD lineup, Chevrolet has unveiled a range-topping High Country trim level, positioned above the Work Truck, Custom, LT and LTZ options.

Just like with the 2019 Silverado 1500, which by the way features eight distinct trim levels, the 2020 Silverado HD offers different levels of design, features and tech in order to meet the “individual and rigorous demands” of heavy duty truck buyers.

“Truck customers are very clear: They want the perfect truck for them and not a ‘one size fits most’ truck compromised for the masses,” stated Mike Simcoe, VP of global design for GM.

“That insight shaped our strategy for the next-generation Silverado franchise, providing customers more differentiation between the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado HD as well as more personalization and differentiation between individual trim levels.”

For 2020, each Silverado HD model boasts distinct exterior design details, such as grilles that have either the automaker’s stamped bar or its iconic bowtie. There’s also a mix of black, body color, chrome or two-tone metallic trim available just for the High Country version.

“We took into account every detail of what customers expect, and how they will use their truck,” added Simcoe. “The results are unique versions of the Silverado HD equally at home working on a construction site or pulling a camping trailer.”

Chevy’s all-new 2020 Silverado HD goes on sale in mid-2019, powered by either a new gasoline engine with direct injection or a Duramax turbo-diesel V8 unit, the latter boasting no fewer than 910 lb-ft (1,233 Nm) of torque.
